Supporting your school
making its way from the school playground to the grounds of the local football club .
With things being difficult financially for so many of us now , we wanted the event to be free to attend so that everyone could get together to celebrate after two years of Covid restrictions and stress .
We got local businesses to sponsor the event and used the small budget to provide music , face painting and entertainment .
The event was a huge success , our community came together with a sense of warmth . It was so heartwarming to see old friends reconnect and new friendships form . We even ran out of balloons – we had 100 but could have given out twice as many or even more . We received an overwhelming amount of gratitude and volunteer offers , prompting us to repeat the event this year .
Our top tip : " Start small and keep building on every small success !"
