Fundraising is of course incredibly important , especially in light of data revealing that the vast majority of our schools are facing cuts in the year ahead . But the efforts you go to as parent volunteers deliver much more than a £ 100 million monetary contribution , and this is a clear theme featured throughout this issue . We ’ re all in this together , and so , as part of the Parentkind community , we hope that you will benefit from the exciting announcement that we will begin fundraising for our community too ! Turn to page 6 to find out more from our new Director of Fundraising , Heather Ridley .

Thinking about how you can support your school community needs this term ? We explore the contribution that dads can make to their PTA and wider community , the benefits of having more dads involved in your PTA , and some top tips from a PTA whose members are mostly dads . Conscious of financial fatigue post-Christmas ? We share some great ways to continue fundraising in the wake of Christmas without impacting your parents ’ pockets too much ( page 38 ). Plus , we release our flagship parent research ( page 51 ) detailing parents ' top concerns for their children ’ s education , together with ways that PTAs can and are working together to relieve the burden .

Finally , this term we met three extraordinary PTAs who are a part of this community ( page 21 ). They share their stories of supporting families , saving a school from closure , and building community spirit .

All of us at Parentkind hope you have a wonderful beginning to the spring term , and we look forward to working with you to deliver even more for our schools .
