How GoHenry helps children learn about money
Why teach kids about money?
• Smart money habits today lead to financial confidence tomorrow
• Like brushing teeth, staying active or eating healthy, money habits formed early become second nature
• Financial literacy covers everything, from saving and investing to earning and borrowing money. Equipping kids with a range of financial knowledge will empower them to take control of their financial futures
GoHenry’ s campaign for financial education in UK schools
GoHenry have been fighting for financial education to be made compulsory in school curriculums from primary school age for the last five years. After so many years of campaigning, three roundtables and their # makemoneycount petition, the Government’ s Curriculum Review now recommends financial education be taught from primary school in England – a huge success!
Learn
Money Missions, their in-app lessons, teach real-life skills which kids can practise using their own debit card and app, so they learn how to use it and value it
Earn
Kids’ money journey starts with earning, with regular pocket money payments to help open up conversations about money and building healthy money habits. Plus, parents can set chores in the app for them to earn extra, and learn that money has to be earned
Save
Kids can take charge of their own savings by setting and achieving savings goals
Spend
Kids get a debit card with their name on it, helping them feel a sense of independence and responsibility in how they budget and manage their money. All spending is done within limits set by parents
Grow
Kids can even earn interest on their own savings goals, giving them insight into compound growth
Invest *
While kids learn to earn, save, spend and grow their money, parents can grow them a pot of money with the GoHenry Junior Stocks & Shares ISA for when they turn 18 Scan here to find out more about the GoHenry Financial Education Manifesto:
