Welcome to a brand-new spring edition of PTAextra, and a very happy new year to you all! 2026 is a particularly special year for us at Parentkind as we celebrate an incredible 70 years of supporting PTAs just like yours. For seven decades we’ ve been proud to champion the vital role parents play in school life – and it’ s wonderful to see how that spirit continues to flourish today. To mark this milestone, we’ re also featuring two PTAs with exciting anniversaries of their own on page 25, each with a story that shows just how powerful school communities can be.
Celebrating 70 years working alongside PTAs on page 25
Spring is the perfect time to bring families together and try something new, and this issue is packed with ideas to help you do just that. You’ ll find an inspiring guide to hosting a spring festival on page 43. Whether you’ re planning one big celebration or a series of smaller seasonal events, there’ s plenty of activities to choose from to make it memorable.
We also turn our attention to something close to many parents’ hearts: teen mental wellness. With World Teen Mental Wellness Day coming up in March, we share practical ways your PTA can support pupils and raise awareness in a positive, meaningful way on page 37.
