Running your PTA

Ask Clare advice & support

When running a PTA , you ’ re bound to encounter challenges – and that ’ s where we can help . At Parentkind , we have a dedicated team of advisers , headed up by our PTA Community Manager , Clare . With 23 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to share , she offers her straight-talking advice on your issues
The school have asked if we could buy some waterproofs in different sizes for children who forget theirs for their weekly forest school session . Parents would normally supply these for their own children , so would this be okay ?
The spending of funds must always align with the charitable objectives set out in your constitution ( e . g . to advance the education of the children at the school ), so your committee needs to discuss and agree whether you think ensuring that all pupils can attend the forest school fits these objectives .
Are there any rules around maximum / minimum working temperatures at our events ?
There ’ s no law for minimum or maximum working temperatures ( e . g . when it ’ s too cold or too hot to work ), however you should always consider the comfort and safety of your volunteers . Provide shaded areas and water available on hot , sunny days and warm drinks and heating on cold ones . 14 PARENTKIND . ORG SUMMER 2024
