What could the responsibilities include?
• Collecting and sorting donations
• Washing donations

• Finding and maintaining storage for donations
• Advertising pre-loved uniform via social media, posters, emails, WhatsApp groups and in-person • Organising pre-loved uniform stalls at the school and at events

• Collecting payments
• Delivering purchases
• Creating and maintaining an online platform for digital sales
Alongside Chairs, Treasurers and Secretaries, modern day PTAs often have other specialist roles that help to make their committee a success. In this issue, we’ re taking a look at the‘ Pre-loved Uniform Coordinator’
What’ s the main purpose of the role?
Pre-loved Uniform Coordinators can have a hugely positive impact on their school community. They can help their PTA gain extra funding but, more importantly, it’ s an opportunity for parents to buy affordable uniform, all while reducing the amount of clothing that goes to landfill. The role involves collecting and selling donated uniform items, but it may also involve washing and mending things too. Another big task is overcoming stigma – some parents have a negative opinion of pre-loved uniform, but this role can help to challenge those misconceptions. As children grow so quickly, a lot of pre-loved uniform is practically brand-new – and just a fraction of the original price!
Coordinating pre-loved uniform doesn’ t have to be one person’ s job – several members of your committee could divide up the tasks between them.
