Pride Month It’ s never been more important to celebrate, advocate and learn more about the LGBTQ + community. With a rich variety of books written by and about LGBTQ + people for children and young adults, why not host a rainbow book sale?

6-14 June
The Great Big Green Week A week to celebrate climate and nature. Take part by organising a litter pick or clothes swap at your school, or hold an assembly about the climate crisis – there is a free resource pack on the website with lots of useful information. greatbiggreenweek. com
9-15 June
Bike Week The UK’ s biggest celebration of cycling! It’ s great for our own health and wellbeing and has a positive impact on the world around us. Your PTA can encourage more pupils to cycle by fundraising for a school bike rack or road safety lessons for those wanting to cycle to school.
18 June
Autistic Pride Day A day to celebrate autistic people and an opportunity to ensure your PTA’ s activities are as inclusive as possible. The movement was founded by Aspies for Freedom in 2005 and emphasises that autism is a difference, not a disease.
19 June
Wrong Trousers Day“ It ' s the wrong trousers, Gromit, and they ' ve gone wrong!” Celebrate the classic stop-motion movie by asking the children to wear their weirdest, wackiest trousers to school for a non-school uniform day. Extra points if they have cheese in their packed lunch.

National Writing Day Celebrate the power and pleasure of creative writing on National Writing Day! Help pupils become storytellers with writing workshops, challenges and competitions.
1-7 June
Volunteers Week This week highlights fantastic PTAs like yours and everyone who lends a helping hand to make things happen for your school community. You can thank old faces or encourage new ones to join, but at the very least take a moment to celebrate your achievements with your fellow volunteers. volunteersweek. org
21 June
Father ' s Day Let’ s give a hand for the incredible fathers and fatherly figures in our lives. Help the kids out with gifts and mementos by opening a pop-up shop, or invite dads into the school for an event – we ' re sure a beer bottle tombola would be much appreciated!
28 June-6 July
Children ' s Art Week Encourage the kids in your community to get creative and express themselves. Set up a stall selling art supplies and crafting goodies or host a fair for young local artists to sell and showcase their work to your community.
