We ’ ve highlighted a few burning questions and comments from the PTA Hangout
Our PTA currently has a positioned member who has taken a dislike to our Co-Chair and is refusing to communicate with them , leaving them off emails , etc . It ' s leaving a lot of members deflated , and we are worried people will leave due to their behaviour . See our Code of Conduct Policy – committee members who are running a charity should be acting professionally . If they can ’ t do that , then maybe they should stand down .
When publishing minutes , are we allowed ( within GDPR ) to name people who have voted or not ? The way individuals have voted is not normally listed within the minutes , unless someone wants their objection recorded . You would usually just state that the motion had passed / not passed . If required , names and confidential items can be redacted .
Can children ( e . g . pupils ) attend the AGM ? Or is it members only , and therefore 18 +? Children can attend the AGM with their parents but cannot participate in the voting as they are not members of the association .

New Year , New You

Whether it ’ s resolutions , ambitions or challenges , the new year is a great time to refocus and prioritise the things that matter most . Here are some top tips to help you live your best home , work , and school life in 2024 :
Down to business : Everyone has a stack of personal tasks they put off . Make January the cut-off point and set yourself down for an afternoon to sort through any financial matters , family or school admin , or PTA affairs that you haven ’ t had time to get to yet . It will take a huge weight off your shoulders .

2

Family matters : New Year ’ s
Resolutions are notoriously tough to stick to . One way you can tackle this is by setting family resolutions that everybody commits to , giving you all support and accountability . This could be as simple as going to bed at a set time , less screen time , more exercise – oh , and don ’ t forget to reward yourselves for your achievements !

3

Out with the old : Whether it ’ s ancient clothes you can ’ t stand the sight of anymore or Christmas presents that never got opened , decluttering your home has many benefits , including reducing stress and increasing energy levels . Get the kids involved too – implementing a one-in / oneout rule can help get them into the joy of cleaning . The best part is anything you get rid of can be sold or donated to a good cause ( such as a PTA event !).
